For the first time ever, audiences will get a behind-the-scenes look at the largest student-run philanthropy in the world when Penn State Public Broadcasting presents the documentary "Why We Dance: The Story of THON." The 60-minute documentary introduces viewers to Four Diamonds families, the children and families living with pediatric cancer, while following Penn State THON student volunteers as they plan and carry out fundraising events and share special experiences with their adopted THON families. Since 1977, Penn State and the Four Diamonds Fund have shared the same goal: to eradicate pediatric cancer. Filming for the documentary began in February 2011 to capture the year-round planning that goes into this no-sitting, no-sleeping phenomenon known as THON. A portion of every sale goes toward THON's fundraising efforts to support the Four Diamonds Fund. ©2012 WPSU. 57 min
